Dear Friends,
Konkan Railway Corporation Limited is the lifeline of Konkan region in particular and that of Nation at large. As such, the trust and faith of millions of customers, be it passengers or bondholders or general populace along this Railway Line, is interlinked to the growth of the Corporation. It, therefore, gives me immense pleasure and pride to be the head of this organisation.
With the completion of operational phase, we are marching ahead creating new milestones and new benchmarks of efficiency.
Passengers are our main focus and we are constantly upgrading the passenger amenities. 25 pairs of mail/express trains and 5 pairs of passenger trains are running on Konkan Railway system. Two new Three-Line Crossing Stations at Nandikur and Vinhere were commissioned on 18/09/2010 and 09/04/2010 respectively. Passenger amenities like Foot Over Bridges, High Level Platforms and Platform-Shelters were added at many stations.

Konkan Railway is considered as an engineering marvel as it is a very difficult terrain. The peculiar geology of the Konkan belt is a constant challenge to railways.
We are carrying out geo-safety works regularly, such as stabilization of slopes, making our tunnels safer by Rock-bolting and shotcreting. We have planted more than 79.12 lakh saplings of Vetiver grass on slopes along the Konkan Railway Route to arrest soil erosion.
The safety and security of passengers is of paramount importance to us, therefore, we have recently installed CCTV and Metal Detectors at Madgaon and Thivim Stations.
We are into infrastructure business too.
