Ro-Ro( Roll on- Roll off) service was introduced on Konkan Railway w.e.f.. 26.01.1999.Running of Ro-Ro is flagship service of Konkan Railway. Trucks are carried on rakes of modified wagons. Introduction of Ro-Ro service has been a WIN-WIN situation for railways, road tansporters as well as to the nation. This service is currently operated between Kolad – Verna  &  Kolad – Surathkal stations. A total of 35553 trucks were carried on Ro-Ro service during 2011-12. Ro-Ro service has unique advantage of hassle free services besides saving in fuel, engine oil, lubricants and wear and tear of trucks.
