The Construction of above line from Km. 30 to Km. 120 between Katra – Laole shall be undertaken by Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd., which includes construction of tunnels, major bridges and other civil engineering work such as Earthwork in cuttings / embankments and minor bridges. The entire Railway line has to be completed in the tight target period. For the purpose of convenience and easy handling, work of earthwork in cuttings / embankment and construction of minor bridges is grouped into number of packages.
Salient features of the proposed works of Earthwork and minor bridges will be:
1.
The work includes earthwork in cuttings / embankments for 90 lacs cum (approx.)
and construction of 30 minor bridges (approx.).
2. Earthwork in cutting is to be carried out in all types of soils / rock and as per the slope design.
3. The work may include slope protection works depending on the soil strata, such as shotcreting, boulder netting, rock bolting, soil nailing and concrete retaining wall etc.
4. The earthwork in embankment will be with compaction layer by layer.
5. Minor bridges may be with RCC/slab / hume pipe / any other type.
6. The bridge foundations can be either with piling / open foundation depending on the strata available. However, foundations will be standardized for the variable geological conditions.
7. As this is an earthquake prone zone, all structures will be designed for earthquake resistance.
8. Method of construction will be standardized.
It is proposed to select Contractors who are prepared to take the challenge and work along with us as empowered technical partner, who will be selected on the basis of information to be submitted along with supporting documents in prescribed format for pre-qualification of contractors for undertaking proposed works.
Following information for screening has to be submitted without fail:
a) Details
of earthwork and minor bridges carried out and completed / in progress during last 5
years.
b) Number
of projects where work is completed in time with clients’ certificates.
c) List
of machinery owned by the Contractors.
d) Details
of professional organization - man power with bio-data of professional staff.
e) Capability
to design the structures.
f) Financial
status of the company including balance sheet for last 5 years. Turnover of the company
during the last 5 years (cumulative) should be Rs.50 Crores.
g) Details
of Arbitration cases, Court cases/ disputes for the works executed during last 5 years.
h) Experience
if any, for executing the works in Himalayas.
The
above details should be submitted in the prescribed format on Excel Sheet, on a CD/Floppy
and one set of hard copy duly signed by the authorized signatory.
