Upgradation of Stations (INP,SAPE,VRLI & upgradation of Kankavali station building )

Under the able leadership of Shri Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister for Railways  various initiatives taken for the upliftment of Konkan Region by way of providing more and more passenger amenities over Konkan Railway which has facilitated in making the journey more comfortable.  Amongst the measures initiated by the Hon’ble Minister includes capacity enhancement of KRCL line, route electrification, construction of additional eleven new stations etc.  to name a few.

13TH KONKAN RAILWAY USERS' CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE (KRUCC) MEETING

13th Konkan Railway Users' Consultative Committee (KRUCC) Meeting was held on 10th November 2016 at Katra, which was chaired by Shri Sanjay Gupta Chairman & Managing Director/ Konkan Railway and attended by KRCL Officers as well as KRUCC Members  Shri Vinayak Raut, Hon'ble MP, Shri Ashish S. Pednekar, Shri Vijay Kenavdekar, Shri G.S.Morajkar, Shri G.G. Mohandas Prabhu, Shri E.M.Balan, Shri Shrikant K. Bhat, Alimiya Kazi. Smt. Varsha Pai Raiker. After meeting, all the members visited the Chenab bridge site at USBRL project. The height of bridge is 359 M.

Vigilance Awareness Week -2016

To impart awareness among the railway staff in particular and public in general about the importance of honesty and transparency, Vigilance Awareness Week will be observed on Konkan Railway from 31st October to 5th November, 2016 on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The theme for this year is public participation in promoting integrity and eradicating corruption and the goal of this campaign would be to improve systems and procedures in a way so as reduce scope for discretion and eliminate corruption.

A TOUR TO GOA FOR PAEDIATRIC CANCER PATIENTS

A tour to Goa was organised for Paediatric cancer patients  of TATA Memorial Hostital by Konkan Railway  as a goodwill geture and to sprinkle happiness on the faces of cancer affected little angles. A 3 tier AC Coach attached  to  Mangalore Super Fast Express specially for Cancer affected kids by Konkan Railway on 10th November 2016. Every year, an excursion tour is being organised for them Ex. Mumbai to Goa and back in co-ordination with TATA Memorial Cancer Hospital and this is being done from last many Years by Konkan Railway.

OPENING OF KANKAVALI STATION FOR PARCEL TRAFFIC

Good news !! The Kankavali Station of Konkan Railway has been opened for loading/unloading of inward and outward parcels by Train No. 11003/ 11004 (Rajyarani Express) with immediate effect.

Passengers may avail of the services.

 

 

 

 

TEMPORARY HALT AT TIRUVALLA

Good news for passengers !! It has been decided by Northern Railway to give Temporary  Halt to following trains for two minutes at Tiruvalla (Sothern Railway Station) during Sabarimala festival  from 17.11.2016 to 19.01.2016.

Kochuveli-Dehradun Express

PERMANENT AUGMENTATION OF TRAINS

 
Good news for passengers !! It has been decided to augment Train No. 22659/22660 Kochuveli-Dehradun-Kochuveli Express with  one  AC-2 tier Coach  and Two General Coaches on permanent basis. Details are given as under :

1) Permanent augmentation of one AC-2 tier and Two General Coaches to Train no. 22659 Kochuveli- Dehradun Express  w.e.f. 28.10.2016.

2) Permanent augmentation of one AC-2 tier and Two General Coaches to Train no. 22660 Dehradun Jn - Kochuveli Express  w.e.f. 31.10.2016.

RUNNING OF SPECIAL TRAINS DURING DIWALI FESTIVAL ON KONKAN RAILWAY ROUTE

          

Good news for passengers !! it has been decided to run Special train  between Pune-Karmali-Dadar to clear extra rush of passengers during  Diwali Festival in coordination with the Central Railway. Details  of train services are given as under :-

Train No. 01409 Pune-Karmali Special Train will leave from Pune at  18.45 Hrs on 28.10.2016 (Friday). Train will reach Karmali at 08.00 Hrs on Next Day.
